Evite, Inc., Partners With X.com's PayPal to Bring Online Person-to-Person Payments to Millions of Users
Partnership Allows Evite Members to Plan Activities and Collect and Send Payments in One Convenient Location
SAN FRANCISCO, June 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Evite, Inc., (http://www.evite.com), the most recognized brand for getting people together, and X.com's PayPal (http://www.paypal.com), the leading online payments network, today announced a partnership to provide an instant payment capability to Evite members. Now Evite users can send and collect payments for group activities in a secure environment at the most convenient time -- during the planning process. Through its partnership with X.com, which has over two million users, Evite continues to deliver on its commitment of providing users with all the resources they need for planning any event, large or small.
The new feature, scheduled to launch on Evite.com in early July, allows Evite users to provide their guests with the option to pay as they respond to their customized Evite Invite. Anyone who needs to collect or pay money related to an activity planned through Evite will now be able to send instant payments -- charged to their credit card or debited from their bank account -- to anyone with a US e-mail address. The service is free of charge to consumers and is seamlessly integrated into the Evite Invite experience.
``We believe there is tremendous unmet demand to provide an instant and convenient payment capability to groups and communities,'' said Elon Musk, CEO of X.com. ``This partnership will provide that capability to Evite users while helping X.com broaden its presence as the leading Internet payments network.''
``Our partnership with X.com brings Evite's users the most reliable payment offering available today,'' says Josh Silverman, Evite CEO. ``Adding payment capabilities brings our services full circle, making Evite the only place you need to visit when getting your friends together. You can search local listings to find the perfect concert, invite your friends and now receive payments for the tickets, eliminating all the planning hassles.''
