The term status indicates the state of the account or the service. For example, the status of your Payflow account is Live after you activate it, or it is Approved when you internet merchant account application is approved.
The internet merchant account can have the following statuses:
Pending. The merchant bank is still making a decision about granting you a Internet merchant account.
Approved. The merchant bank accepted your request for a internet merchant account. You now have a internet merchant account and can process Live transaction.
Incomplete. Your enrollment for an internet merchant account is incomplete. You may have clicked Save & Exit during the registration process. Click Incomplete to return to your Payflow registration process and complete the internet merchant account application.
Declined. The merchant bank has rejected your request for an internet merchant account.
If you are switching your processor to PayPal, then after the registration process, your status will be Pending. Expand the drop-down for "Status" in the Your Account Status section to see if any tasks need to be completed. After the tasks are completed, your application will be approved. You will see Approved in the Service Summary section and also message at the top of PayPal Manager saying that you have successfully registered for the PayPal processor. However, you are still using your old processor and need to switch to the PayPal processor. Follow the instructions in the message to switch to the PayPal processor.
Your Payflow account or a service, such as Fraud, can have either a Test or a Live status.
Test. All transaction information is sent to test servers at PayPal. You should run transaction or configure settings in Test status to get comfortable with the services. No money trades hands in test transactions. Once you complete your testing, you can activate your account by clicking on the Activate Your Account button on the Your Account Status section of the PayPal Manager Home page to transact actual currency. Active accounts perform Live transactions. For services, when you purchase a service, it is in Test status. Configure the service as per your business needs when it is in Test status.
Live. All transactions that you submit are sent to the financial institutions for processing and that real money is transferred. For your services, the settings that you configured when in Test status go into effect, and impact your transactions accordingly.
